Should GCU make a Outpost Store?

I'm just wondering...  We came up with the Idea.  If majority rules, we'll go with it.  And if it's yes, you guys post and tell what items. (Like pens, t-shirts)

i would buy from the store IF a single pen didnt cost me 5 bucks or there were some other outrageous prices like that
how to insult a klingon:

qatlh Quch Hab ghaj no'ra'
vaj HabHa''a' je 'uSDu'lIj joj

wich translates roughly to:

how come you guys never had those for head bumps in the first staktrek series and do you guys have bumps like that on your genitals too?

If I really needed Outpost stationary, I'd slap a stick saying Outpost onto a pen. I like the idea, but I hardly ever spend money. I wouldn't want to break the habbit, would I?

I doubt it, cuz the income you'd get wouldn't be great enough unless you included non Outpost things as well. (Or if the outpost things were really nice things, like say an Outpost-branded computer, or something)

I might buy one thing (or two), but you better wait until more ppl play Outpost 2, so you have more customers.

And how much would the transport to Germany cost?

That's the bad thing I think. The cost of shipping and handling could exceed the price of the actual items....sorry foreign peoples. Maybe if we hire a flock of geese to carry the packages on their backs...but argh I hear their union is very upset about cross ocean flights. It's still a good idea though for a store.

Why don't we ask Serria if we can sell clean copies of OP2 on this site? It would be a good Idea if it's gonna make Xfir some income to pay for the site and bering in new players, right? BTW, what's GCU?

I would buy stuff, and even though I live in Germany, I have an address for the states that you could ship to (You don't have to pay international charges. You pay to New York ((or I do)) and then the military picks it up and delivers the rest of the way).

We live in the US, so this would be a US based operation Plymoth. Next GCU is Game Creators United, the company Garrett and I started, which is creating OP3. And first we need to buy stuff.

You really can't do that without talking to SIERRA first. I would rather not like to see someone go to jail because of a copyright and trademark infringment.

I forgot to mention:

If anyone has any questions about copyright/trademark/registered trademark/patent information and laws, I will happily answer them. I have been heaviliy involved in researching and understanding these laws so that I can properly copyright, trademark and patent my work.

And please, I say this again (not to be yelling or a jerk but to get attention):

YOU CAN NOT SELL ANYTHING WITH AN OUTPOST NAME OR THEME WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF SIERRA AND ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED WITH BOTH OUTPOST AND OUTPOST: DEVIDED DESTINY! NOT DOING SO CAN GET YOU SENT TO JAIL EVEN IF YOU ARE A MINOR! PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS!!!

Umm, Sierra was bought out. Doesn't that mean that whoever bought them out owns the copyrights now? Anyways, I'm sure it'd still be illegal. I don't think selling stuff is a good idea.

Dynamix created and programmed the game.  Sierra is just the publisher (Thus Sierra handled the copyright and trademark info.)

I am planning to talk to Sierra about rights.  (I have their address now thnx to tech support)  If I can't get rights, even with royalties, then It'll be by donation. (op3 that is) :)  About the store... I'm not sure what to do.  A decent initial investment is required, but I don't want to spend my BDay money!! lol

People keep telling me that SIERRA is dead, but they certainly seem to be operating. And it's definatly under the same name.

Now, I know that a few years ago there was a problem with the company, but it appears as if they are back in full swing. Mostly with Console games, though...

Could somebody tell me why SIERRA is dead?

 :op2: Leeor Dicker

BTW:
I'm not necessarily an advocate of SIERRA. I only liked a few of their games but besides that I never thought too highly of them.
