Greetings,
I'm Steve York, the original writer on Outpost 2, and I just stumbled on your site. I'm gratified, and a little amazed that long after Dynamix is gone, there are still people out there playing with and enjoying Outpost 2. I still get an occasional piece of fan mail off the project, which is always great to see.
It might interest people to know what I've been up to since Outpost. Mainly I've been writing novels, some of which may be of interest to Outpost fans. Published work includes:
Two novels based on Marvels "Generation X" teen mutant team, titled "CROSSROADS" and "GENOGOTHS." These are out of print, but not that hard to find on Ebay and elsewhere, and I'm pretty proud of them.
Two Star Trek SCE (Starfleet Corps of Engineers) eBooks, coauthored with my wife Chris, titled ENIGMA SHIP and SPIN. Both can be found at your standard eBook vendors, and ENIGMA SHIP was recently reprinted in paperback in the omnibus title "STAR TREK SCE WILDFIRE."
Two novellas (co-authored with Dean Wesley Smith) based on Keith Laumer's BOLO cybertanks. These were printed by Baen Books in BOLOS BOOK 6: COLD STEEL and BOLOS BOOK 5: OLD GUARD.
A MechWarrior Dark Age novel, FORTRESS OF LIES. I've just signed to write two more MechWarrior novels, the first of which will be out next year, and another in 2007. A German language edition of FORTRESS OF LIES is coming out this fall.
I also have a short story in the recently-released anthology TRANSFORMERS, LEGENDS, edited by David Cian, based on the classic toy line and cartoon series.
I'm just finishing up a fantasy trilogy set in the world of Robert E. Howard's CONAN. They aren't Conan books, though. All original characters, set in the evil land of Stygia. These will be out late this year.
If people have questions about the making of Outpost 2, the novellas, or any of the other work I did on the project, I'd be glad to answer as time permits.
I have a blog with my writing related stuff and news at:
