Dont stop with a 5min contest see who can spam the forum so much, to cause the servers this forum is hosted on to crash.

Now that woud be some serious spamming from quite a few comps at once!!!!

Okay, believe it or not, let's say I happen to do one post per second ... that will not crash the server. If it did, then the server was probably made out of toothpicks and wood glue.

The server has quad Xeon 2.8 ghz CPUs and 1 gig of RAM. It would take hundreds of times that amount of traffic to cause any major instabilities.

(Even then, heavy traffic would at most probably crash apache (the webserver) or mysql (the database server). It surely wouldn't bring down the whole system).

I retake the lead! I am only suggesting a temporary absense of the flood control mechanism. Perhaps we could hold the contest at my forum, where I can eliminate flood control there and put it back.
