Author Topic: Clerification of Flood Plain Starship Wreckage (Read 6433 times)

Ok guys. I'm back... somewhat... I was reading the forums here and then I decided to register... but I lost where the question was for this... so I figured that I'd post my own topic..

The Starship Wreckage that you find on Flood Plain is supposed to be taken to your Spaceport. I can't remember if what happens is instantaneous or whether you must research something, but your Tigers' speed gets upgraded MAJORLY. I cannot remember how much faster it makes them... I believe it was faster than a Panther, but slower than a Lynx.

Anyways, it's been a long time since I've played that map and/or used the wreckage... I believe that Demon told me that there's another map where you can find Starship Wreckage as well... I can't remember for the life of me what map that is though. Sorry.

P.S. I CAN'T BELIEVE NONE OF YOU KNEW WHAT THE HECK THE WRECKAGE WAS FOR!%@# LOL! :blink:

You use a scout 2 find it, it comes up on map as a flag like in single player missions.
From it you get the Tiger Speed Modification:
The 'Conestoga' wreckage we found appears to be a piece of a roving vehicle intended for use as a planetary explorer. That vehicle was similar to our Tiger heavy combat chassis in many respects, but was capable of a higher top speed. In examining this item, we were able to make simple modifications to our Tigers that increases their speed.
It makes the tigers move at speed 4, lynx move at speed 2 when they have the scout class speed upgrade and scouts move at 1.

I would have learned, except every time I got the wrekage people would target me before I got a chance to get a spaceport up

also, if you have phil's trainer, and you turn on all structures and vecs, you can build a basic lab that has the same effect for the coloney games

§hadowDemon once told me once of another map that had starship wreckage, but I'm sorry to say I cannot remember which map it was...

I'm not 100% sure, because it's a long time since I played.

But I think Flood Plains is only map with wreckage.

Not very helpful... How many players, which mode (LR, LOS, Midas, Space Race) I don't know the other maps cuz all everyone wants to do is play fricken pie!!!

its quite repetitive though playing the same map all the time... ppl say the same thing about wintermaul on the war3 battlenet... well i don't like playing it anymore cos i've played it so much

if it wasn't true, then people would never get bored of playing the colony maps/missions

After playing Pie Chart 3128532815718235^3.14 times, I think that map is overrated.

Oh, and the Flood Plain wreakage is old news... very old news. I went and verified it with xfir a long time ago.

I dont like playing the same map all the time so im working on new maps.

One of the reasons Pie can be played most of the time is because you are able to chose teams on it, it dosent mater where you are on the map you can team up with any one else. This is not the case with most other maps, they are only for North vs South, meaning every1 on the North side has to be on the same team and fight the South team, this is bad because what if all the good players are on the South side... it wont be a very good game, well.

With Pie you can pick teams and have good games, with my new map The Hunters you are able to do the same.

i seen that i play many 2 and 3 player games when im online so i made a map for those who like FFA with not too many players... im waiting for DLL though <_<

hum, a north vs south map in which the one north player allies one south player (and the other two ally)

...wouldn't work in most RTS games, but as you can start a game of op2 with zero offensive units, it would make an interesting game (as long as no one goes for a scout/robosurveyor rush)

ppl who scout rush ... well its funny to send just one once and watch your little brother go crazy cos he got attacked and there are no weapons on the map yet.... but ppl who use it as a cheap way to get ahead early on by crippling cargotrucks or destroying the advanced lab/tokamak (i hate the fact that theres an offchance any damage can cause instant death on an active tokamak or adv lab) ...well they are as bad as people who use cheat codes

on the hunters map if u were on the north side vs ppl on the north side u still have 2 drive 2 the middle of the map b4 u can attack anyone else, that is why it works like pie as being able 2 pick teams.
