I'm going to create the engine separate from the game. The game itself will just consist of data files that the engine reads. Almost like the quake engine. Then the engine can be used to make future RTS games. Sound good?

Creating the engine separate from the game won't have much effect on it, but might have a lot of effect if you want to make a sequel after, so good idea.

PHP doesn't stand for Pre-HTML Processor officially..it means Hypertext Pre-processor...but what you said is basically the same thing.

thats why PHP users are /that/ kind of special.

It doesn't have ot make since PlayingOutpost, it just has to work. If it works, then people won't care what you call it.
