I know this is kinda like trolling up the topic, but since I'm new I believe you can forgive me. I just thought I'd add something useful:
As I know it (And I learned a bit about this due to the other game I played, Total Annihilation) if it is no longer possible to obtain the game via Real World store, or retail websites online (this doesn't include E-bay), it's officially abandonware, and can be hacked/modded/put up for download. However if someone attempts to Resell, or mod/hack and resell, the copyright owner can sue for royalties, infringement and the like. The other game I play, the one I mentioned above, has for years been borderline abandonware. The company which made it has since closed, and the company who owns the rights has simply filed them away in some dark corner never to see the light of day again. However, since it is still possible to buy it online, and even obtain the expansion pack, it cannot be declared abandoneware yet. Just thought this might help. I'd personally love to be able to just try out even a demo of OP1 as I never saw it heh
