Has anyone ever used 1and1 to host their web-site? I need help using their control panel....I can't find the root index to create the needed index.html file.

Wha?

Do they use cPanel?

Most of the time your path would be:

/home/username/public_html

Have you tried FTPing in?

Yes, I ftp'd in successfully, and I placed a file called index.html in the root directory (or what I thought was the root directory, it was called /. ). But when I try to pull up my site (The one I placed it in is www.frankandami.com) I get an error code 403. I sent them a trouble ticket in and haven't gotten a response yet. And yes they do use cPanel.

It looks like a server side problem to me. Have you tried contacting the administrators of the hosting service?

Yep, and its been 24 hours already without a response. I just sent them a nasty letter (Maybe I shouldn't have done that :( ) about not getting a response sooner and how much I disapprove of their services. They'll probably just shrug it off and not answer me again and laugh at it.

Payed for. I'm paying $10/month for it

This is their help for setting up a new page

But my cPanel looks a lot different than their's does on this presentation.
