I'll try to do something similar as a test with brute text editing (the firefox install files are all basically .zip files and javascript/ wordpad)
I'll try the basic toolbar first, looking at some others I have downloaded, and using those as a guide to attempting a modular toolbar.
If it looks good (from my perspective) THEN I'll ask and add OPU stuff.
