First off, NO we don't need to change our client.
Two, it is REALLY simple to do.
Okay, once connected to the IRC, click the TOOLS dropdown menu.
From there, click the Address Book.
Then, click the tab all the way to the left, Highlight.
You should see "$me" without quotes.
There will be a button "Add" to the right side.
There is where you will add the word you want to use. *For us, it will be !game
Click it, and another window will pop up.
The first line will ask for "Highlight lines that contain these words: "
Put in the word !game
There should be a pull down choice, but just leave it at Message
And after will be two check boxes, one for case sensitive, and one for Regex,
Leave case sensitive unchecked.
I am unsure of what Regex does, so leave it unchecked as well.
you can set a color and sound on the next line, I.E. I'm going to set mine up for the savant voice ( not sure what voice I want yet)
Then the Flash Message x times and the Tip message x seconds
Leave he Message at bottom blank.
Hit okay and its all setup.
You have done well, your colony is surviving.
EDIT: EDIT: Our new word that we have agreed upon is !game, no case sensitive.
