The Annihilator And Mammoth Series.
« on: January 16, 2007, 08:32:20 AM »
I hope I don't offend anyone since I'm new here.
Iwas thinking of giving plymoth an advantage by adding the Annihilator class tank
which has 800hp with reinforced heavy armor and 3 weapons. While the Mammoth
tank would have Ultra Heavy armor with 950 hit points and 4 big guns. Both tanks
would have two firing modes (fire at will) and (volley fire). Fire at will would have the original firing mode like other tanks but the volley fire would fire all guns at once causing even more than normal damage at the cost  of a longer cool down time. Due to the sheer size of the Mammoth I think it may require a 3rd tread!

Statistics: Plymouth
Annihilator
HP: 1200
Armor: Heavy reinforced
FP: Triple weapons system -10% Refire rate penalty
Speed: Ultra Slow
Common Ore cost: 1800
Rare Ore cost: 1050
Bithium Ore cost: 120

Mammoth
HP: 1850
Armor: Ultra Heavy
FP: Quadruple weapons system -15% Refire rate penalty
Speed: Very Slow
Common Ore cost: 3100
Rare Ore cost: 1750
Bithium Ore cost: 430

I only see a problem with bigger and BIGGER vecs is that people will just rush to build those and the Tiger will be come as obsolete as the panther making them useless to have in the game.  Dont really need the next biggest units with 3 or 4 weapons.  I suspect there are other factions in this game other then Eden and ply and they may need units other then Lynx Panther Tiger.  So making a new unit that is balanced with those.

That is if we know or not there is more then 2 factions.  Maybe the genesis team could enlighten us.

This is one of the few cases where I agree with Freeza - a chassis larger than Tiger is pointless and out of hand.  Also, Plymouth isn't supposed to have an advantage - the whole thing is, Eden is the more militaristic of the two, whereas Plymouth has more internal stability with less fluctuations in morale.  Giving Plymouth ubertanks totally shatters this point.

If you have read my weapons post you will see that that Eden has two new weapons that would allow a lynx (if it could get close enough) to obliterate anything in a single shot!

Yes, I read that.  I don't think you're getting what we're saying.

high-powered weapons = bad.

They are unbalancing, as people will just spam those and the game will become un-fun.

It depends on the cost and build time of these weapons not to mention the fact that certain weapons could need special structure in order to allow construction of them.

No. We seriously do not want uber weapons heavier than a tiger. The reasons have been pointed out.

If you want a new chassis, suggest something that doesn't make anything else obsolete.
