Keep HubbaJJ ?

Well, here's a question I want to ask everyone who uses IRC.

Do you want to keep HubbaJJ around? it's a stats bot that sits in the channel. Unfortunately it doesn't work anymore (the stats it produces are outdated) but it continues to output messages to the channel.

Some people think it is annoying and just another idler, others think it inflates our user count.

What do you think?

I dont see any real reason to get rid of it. if its not bothering anybody why not just leave it? are there any plans to fix the stats? i personally find it mildly entertaining, even if the stats are outdated.

i really have no opinion. if it disappears i prolly wouldnt notice, but i see no reason to make the effort to get rid of it.

There already are updated stats Horus, the Bot keeps stats better than HubbaJJ. It doesn't spam up the chat though, you can get the link using !stats.

The only thing HubbaJJ has ever said to my knowledge is "Stats Updated: (link)"

Once; or twice a day maybe??

How annoying is that with the lines and lines of spam; crap like Fensirul's petty arguments, or my constant nick changing for no apparent reason - those two lines the bot says CAN'T be that bad.

Leave the damn bot there; it's not like an overflowing toilet, it's like a toilet that overflows and leaves a reward- like a dollar...

It inflates our user count by one- which is one more than we would have without.

ya i agree with the 2 above. it seems like it would be going out of our way a bit. but if it disappeared, i prolly wouldnt notice.

at least make the good stats from the bot more accessible. i didnt even know about that. other ppl prolly dont either.

Well (since I'm an advocate for getting rid of HubbaJJ), it wouldn't really be going out of our way to do that.. To actually remove the bot takes little effort.

Also, regarding 'looking back at the old stuff' -- we can still copy the log page from HubbaJJ and store it on our site if people want to do that. (Seeing as it's never updated anyway).

As for making the Bot stats more visible where would you like to put them?

Not really a point to him since OPU|Bot keeps track of all the new stats. Copy the log files like hacker suggests and post a link to them.

Why not keep the damn F*kin robot ??
It's the only "person" i can tell to sod off without having "him" defending himself, or someone to kick me outta the room!  hey, i even do it while i'm sleeping heh
