sure, if you want me to create it (when we get to that point)

I'm remaking the map editor right now.... it probably won't be too long before this becomes reality.

Well, yes, that would be a great idea... but... well, considering some of the players register here then never show up again save for IRC, they may not get all the files and whatnot.. so..

If they do post the files, I would think we'd have to have someway of making sure everyone gets it... that way we don't get "Corrupt or missing DLLs" during multiplayer.. other than that, I am all for the idea.

well, if we do that, it would be easier for the OPU people to compile them into a New Maps Pack

khm.... "Everyone got this map?" :D

i think if enough maps get posted then they should be compiled to a Map Pack... or if not, then included with next reunion update.

IRC can also be a problem... it is a bit slow to send it to every1, and will be even more cuz i see the community (ESPECIALLY on IRC) is growing fast.

Map Pack = op2dl update.

Every time an update comes out you run the op2 updater app, which checks for a new version and downloads it.

there are no "New Maps Packs," only this. it makes it a lot easier than having to send little zips everytime we want to put out new maps.

Perhaps at some point we could modify op2 to the point where it will download the map from the host if it doesn't already have a copy (like SC and other games do.)

LOL. Starcraft is the best example.

Microsoft games suck.

Unreal Tournament is another good example. But it does it before joining the game. (Or "lobby")

Half-Life is my favorite example...since I played that a lot a long time back.
In the dark I'm at home, in the light I'm on the battlefield. A Dragon's life is a constant struggle for survival. But in the end, we will prevail.
