I need to get into monthly contact with everyone making one of the OP games, and I need to get people to help me gather info

False. Starting with 2 mols and ending with 4 is incorrect. Nitrogen and Iodine don't usually are diatomic.

lol

Hold on.. lemme get a calc problem up.

*checks chem work*  you're grammer needs some work there... anyway, I think you were trying to say that N and I are both diatomic, which of course is correct, lol.  Unfortunately, you are basing it too much on math.  1 mole each of two non-diatomic elements, when they combine, becomes 1 mole of the molecule created.  With N and I, they can only go 1 atom with 1 atom, and thus 2 moles of NI are created

luckily, we just covered that type of problem in calc:

[(x^6)/6 - (3x^2)/2 + 7x]4 5 = (((4)^6)/6 - (3(4)^2)/2 + 7(4)) - ((5^6)/6 - (3(5)^2)/2 + 7(5)) = (682.67 - 24 + 28) - (2604.17 - 37.5 + 35) = (686.67) - (2601.67) = -1915

The Integration sign!

It's calc.. you will eventually learn it.. I'm taking Calc 2 next semester, so that shall be fun.

I may make some more problems later on.

As for CK9, he did excellent. He took the Antideriative and solved using that.. now I will go make another problem that you can't easily take the antideriative of. Later.. much so..

Ahh, are you guys really sure about that chem answer? I would get this.

N2 + 3I2 = 2NI3

Granted, they both form diatomic molecules, but they bond differently. Nitrogen would form a tripple bond since it's missing 3 electrons in it's valence shell. Iodine will only form a single bond since it's missing 1 electron in it's valence shell. Thus it'll take 3 iodine atoms to bond with each nitrogen atom to form a stable molecule.

Hmm..., how about

Integral( x = 1..2, 1/(x^2+x-2))

I've never seen it lain out like that, but I'll try:

./.2
.|............1........ dx
.|....x^2 + x - 2
/..1

heck, I don't even have to continue, it equals infinity.  Also, if the 2 and 1 are switched, then it equals negative infinity

Where'd you get the basis that it would equal infinity?

I'd say it would be closer to 0 than infinity.

I don't have my Calc book with me, or I would try to solve that.

Fe--Fe----Fe--Fe

i know its slightly out of proportion especially if my ascii skills suck but what is the name of the molecule i just drew

edit: added anser: its a ferrous wheel

how to insult a klingon:

qatlh Quch Hab ghaj no'ra'
vaj HabHa''a' je 'uSDu'lIj joj

wich translates roughly to:

how come you guys never had those for head bumps in the first staktrek series and do you guys have bumps like that on your genitals too?

it is infinity

Correct. It was a divergent integral. (I actually just picked the interval of integration quite arbitrarily and didn't notice when I posted this. But it's still about the same level of difficulty. Only slightly harder than I intented. Actually the problem was that I was fussing over the denominator and accidentally made a root at 1.)

Well, ok. A slightly easier question then. Same thing but different interval of integration.

Intregral( x = 2..3, 1/(x^2+x-2))

And yes, I actually worked this one out.

Naw, at this point, I stopped thinking. :)

I got a B in Calc I, so I don't have to think about math for the next 2 weeks or so.

zeritou: I have no idea. Unless it's a simple answer like Fe12 or something like that.

CK9, yeah ok, but what's the exact answer? Numerical integration doesn't count.  ;)

Besides, if I'd been marking a quiz that just stated the answer like that, I'd be tempted to give it something like 1/5. Anyways, the question should be about a Calc II level.

lol, I'm in my first year of Calc, though

What do you mean by exact answer?  If I were to give the initial answer, it would involve ln, and I hate leaving that operation in the answer

People always leave things like ln in their final answer. It's exact. Besides who uses a calculator anyways?
