It practically blends into the terrain (for the mars type anyway). I played with the hue/saturation a bit with some input from my husband. It's now very... green. Not sure I dig the green but it definitely pops off the terrain.

I like the green.  IMHO it's easier to look at and stands out more.

They all work well... I'm not sure which one I like best though...

The green does stand out a lot better.

I kind of liked the red one, but I'm not sure if it would stand out as well. Contrast with the base terrain is probably one of the more important aspects.

Also have to keep in mind that it needs to contrast with all terrain types. Blue and white/gray likely wouldn't work well on the other terrain types. Green would probably work out (perhaps I can make it really bright, like the UI green). In retrospect, that's probably why they went with a bright orange.

I was looking at the graphics along the bottom of the UI and thought maybe the ground/connection/play icon could use some love to better match the navigation arrows. How about something like this?

I think I like the slightly thicker looking one, though the thinner one probably matches the UI better.

Actually, on second thought, given the size of the icons (on bottom and top) they're probably better off remaining relatively simple. But I'll leave it up here for the time being in case Leeor wants to give it a try and see how they look.
