Problems With Enormous Pictures

I have a picture that is like 20 megabytes, and my computer does not have enough memory to open the entire picture. Is there any way I can see it without having to increase my RAM?

Try using a different graphics editing software.

Your computer should be able to open it due to virtual memory. (Increase your virtual memory if you need)

Virtual memory is a disk file that acts as extra memory when the physical memory gets low.

To increase this on Win XP:
You must be an administrator-level account.
Right click my computer > go to properties.
Go to advanced tab, hit Settings in the Performance section.
Go to the advanced tab, press Change at the bottom.
Click custom size and set minimum to at least 50 MB, maximum to 2 times the size of your memory or more.
Press set, and hit OK.

You may be asked to reboot your computer. You have to do that to make it take effect.

As far as other windows OS'es, I can't remember how to do it.

Windows should manage how much virtual memory you have for you. If you don't have enough, it will increase the amount automatically. I know because I constantly get bubbles popping up in my system tray to tell me it's doing so. But that's because my computer sucks. My page file usually weighs in at about 380 MB to 512 MB. (I only have 192 MB of RAM  :( ). If you're really getting problems, it's most likely the software you're using to load the image, or perhaps the image file format isn't what's expected.

It's also possible to do the same thing on Win 98 and 95.
After properties > go to perfomance > Virtual Memory and do what you want to do.
But as Hooman said, it's better to let Windows manage the virtual memory settings.

the others forgot to mention something.  Sometimes, when you are loading a picture and the computer is using another program, the CPU usage is too much and it will suspend the process least important to computer function (Happens to me with OP2 sometimes (using some trainers in single player 'cause I'm bored), very irritating)) and a picture that is trying to load with stop.
