Should I Attempt A Firefox Toolbar
« on: April 02, 2011, 07:42:05 PM »
My toolbar would act like the My Assistant, and it would also display the shoutbox.

If you want to help, talk on the IRC.

I'm fairly new to web coding, and I'm going through the Mozilla tutorial site to learn how to do it from the ground up.

To bad.  It's sorta done.

(link removed)

THINGS DONE:
You can see, but not post in, the shoutbox.
The header takes you to the forum.
There is both a forum and a websearch when you pull down the menu behind the searchbar.

THINGS I'D LIKE TO DO:
Add posting to the shoutbox.
Add the My Assistant (that actually WORKS. Not just a box that looks like it.)

It would be SO much easier if the shoutbox was RSS feed.
The MY Assistant thing might wait.

Removed link and locked thread. Conduit is spyware and I don't think we need to start promoting this kind of stuff. At the very least it should not have our site name attached to it.

If you want to make things that contain the OPU name then please ask an admin before going ahead and doing it because I certainly do not want to associate our site with low quality or malicious software.

(edit: conduit is essentially a firefox "toolbar maker" which has been banned from addons.mozilla.org in the past because it contains spyware and other sorts of garbage).
