Freezes Up Virtual Box...
« on: December 14, 2010, 08:26:59 PM »
I'm running it on a Win98SE virtual box, and it freezes up the whole box, I can't CTRL ALT DEL or anything, oddly I can hear the game continuing to run, the audio continues doesn't skip, the computer keeps updating me with what's going on, but my mouse vanishes, and the display stops updating. I've never had such problems with a VMWare box thus far on any program...any suggestions?? I can't play the game because it freezes so randomly :(

If your main OS is Linux or MacOS, you don't have to use VirtualBox or another Emulator to play op2. Just get Wine.

No my main OS is Windows 7. Or I wouldn't be using VMWare.

OP2 runs on Windows 7. You may have to right click outpost2.exe and check "disable visual themes" and "disable desktop composition" under the compatibility tab or it might lag a bit, though.

I had it run on Vista32, Vista64, 7-32, and 7-64. As Arklon said, just change the compatibility options.
