Did I Do Something Wrong?
« on: November 28, 2008, 06:00:07 AM »
I'm loving the mod so far, its actually very well done and *new* which is great. However, I've run into a slight problem, slight being an understatement.

I finish mission two and get to the start of mission three and get this;

Any idea what could cause this? I've already downloaded the replacement dll file to see if this resolves the issue, which bzz it doesn't.

Anyone?

Huh.  You don't see that everyday.
Which version of OP2 are you using?  Maybe something was done in 1.3.5 that makes Renegades yucky.

I was running an older build I believe 1.3.1 and upgraded to 1.3.5 after seeing it was available and the bug occurred.

The error message would seem to imply that the level links against a newer version of op2extra.dll than is currently available. I'd say try to find an updated op2extra.dll.

Of course, it could be the other way around, and you need an older version. Basically, you need a function that doesn't exist, either because it wasn't added yet, or it got dropped (or renamed) in the version you have. Probably because it wasn't added yet, in which case you need a newer dll.

Version 1.3.5 does ship with op2extra.dll, so it's possible it replaced an existing dll with an older one, which could cause the error. Although, I would have assumed that Renegades comes with the dll, so installing Renegades after installing Outpost2 should probably set you up with the right version.

I think Renegades used IUnit.h, no?

If that's the case, op2extra.dll that has IUnit stuff in it is needed.

Renegades uses IUnit but the dll supplied with the setup should work fine.
You are the first to have problem to my knowledge.

The dll (v1.1) DOES export the function:

Download op2extra v1.1: http://renegades.eddy-b.com/download/op2extra.dll
and see if it helps.
