This is the vehicle that will annoy you cliff dwellers.

All
Statistics:Flea-J
Size: Scorpion
HP:240
Armor: Renforced Light
FP:Microwave-laser hybrid cannon +Rapid discharge = +80% ROF
SFP:Uses hydrolic pumping system to jump up cliff faces
Speed:Fast
Common Ore:undecided
Rare Ore:undecided

This is good for when people hide on plateau's and allows you to secure a zone for construction of a lift (if either is added).

The rapid discharge is a system that uses the weapons fusion reactor by powering several capacitors and them discharging them in rapid succession while charging the ones that were just fired thus creating a form of machine gun which makes the weapon more of a threat to hostile units. So if you use a squad of these you stand a good chance of winning against a patrol of enemy units.

Maybe this would work if:

This was a only scorpion

That it has an actual machine gun with real bullets, and that he was a little bit bigger and stronger.

This might actually work.
How about making this "Flea-J feature" an upgrade of a scorpion instead of just making another unit?

Interesting concept. It would definitely change some basing strategies.

Microwave-laser hybrid cannon

First off what is that i have seen it in a few posts

And now you really dont need to jump up cliff faces like a billy goat if you can drive  hydralic ram into the cliff face and literally walk up the wall.  I would like to point out if you had enough power to do that with a hydralic system you could of put that into a long range Indirect fire weapon. and not worry about going to them lol.  This could work i just dont like the jump part of it.  It sounds like it needs to be a climbing action but still machine like.

You could almost simply add another tech research for a spider to climb vertical faces...

Microwave-laser hybrid? That's 2/3 of a HERC Projector (what the meteor defense uses). (In case you're wondering, the remaining 1/3 is a particle projector.)

Ahhh. Agreed.. I think.

So instead this would be an upgrade that allows the scorpion to use hydralic rams to gain a hold in the side of a cliff and walk up it (this would be much slower though).

So.
Statistics:Scorpion II
Size: Scorpion
HP:240
Armor: Renforced Light
FP:Microwave-laser hybrid cannon +Rapid discharge = +80% ROF
SFP:Uses hydrolic ramming systems to climb up cliff faces
Speed:Fast
Common Ore:undecided
Rare Ore:undecided

What do you think of the weapons upgrade?

Chainguns aren't exactly going to be useful since they use a explosive charge to fire the projectile at a.... velocity that wouldn't do much damage to a tank in OP2 now maybe a gatling railgun but the power source would be to large for the flea, it's just more feasable to stick to the weapon they developed for it's predecessor the scorpion with some sort of improvement to deal with hostiles better.

i didn't mean just the chaingun... machine guns, .50 cal, .30 cal... anything... If you wish that Flea-J stays a "fast" vehicle, you should remove any of these things (laser, rail, rpg...). Why doesn't everyone like the ol' good machine guns with ol' good bullets. LOL.

It's simple, yeah the gun maybe lighter but the ammuntion container would have to be large and all the ammo would be heavy. Of course it might work on the larger chassis.

I think we've generally ignored the whole ammunition requirement. Any projectile weapon would need storage for the rounds (RPG, Rail, Sticky, etc...).

BTW: Why is there a "J" on the flea feature/upgrade? There's no "Spider-L".

Could you maybe make a mini rail gun (kinda like the scorpion laser is a mini-laser). It would definitely be weaker than the standard rail gun but perhaps almost as powerful as a laser? Then the mass driver and slugs would be smaller over the standard rail gun.

There are such things as firing Sabots which have no trouble of going through armor.  Old technology would work fine look at Plymoth there using a solid boosted shape charge on a stick.  I dont understand why we cant just use the normal laser that is on the scorp.

The J simply stood for (Jump) but since this is now going to be a scorpion upgrade that is irrelevant. AHHHHHHHHHH! Perhaps we could use weapons selections on the scorpions just like they did on the lynx's.

Say Freeza didn't you suggest a gatling gun called the Orgin Pipe?

If you mean the pipe organ that is a weapon that does not belong in any game.  One of the other guns i sugested was a Vulcan Chain Gun.

The reason you would use the laser that is already fitted for the scorp is its more effective in a smaller version then a small projectile weapon would be.  Laser better then bullets in small form weapons.  Mostly the reason why the arachnid units dont mount the weapons a lynx can is because the power needed for these weapons  the only weapons that really wouldnt take much power is the RPG all you need to do is ignite the rocket fuel.  But then the turrets of the tanks are the size of a spider.

I agree with you on that post........

Projectile or more powerful weapons weren't meant to be put on something that small. It's like trying to put a rail gun on a HUMV.

Alright, I'm going to take the liberty to say that this, is an awsome idea, however, I think it should be its own unil so the Anarchid factory would be making Spideres, Scorpions and Flea-J's in single and three packs.
