Deployable Vheicals
« on: October 17, 2006, 04:07:21 PM »
I think we would benifit from some deployable things. Like a deployable scout thing.

Heres a list:
Deployable Scout
Deployable Survayor

Please add more ideas, I will add more detail in my next post.

What exactly would it do?

I'm not sure what advantage a deployable scout would be over a normal one. (Considering that scouts are useless standing still; they can't scan buildings without moving by them).

Um what the hell.  There is no reason for a Scout or surveyor to deploy or morph into some thing else like the geo con and robominer

Why would a scout or surveyor need to deploy for? You will have to come up with better idea threads than "I think vehicles should deploy. End of idea." Thats bogus. You offer no reasoning or further explaination. Having an idea for a feature is fine but you have to do some mental work and explain the concept and reasoning for it.

you have a reusable surveyour and a seperate robo-mine for a reason. surveyours cost far less to build!

deployable scout, don't you mean guard posts or light towers?

Thats what the detail is for.

Deployable scout: Deployed it can scan a farther range, and give a more detailed scan of a vheical. Since a scout can be used as an advanced warning of oncoming attack, this is can be used as a better way to defend the scout by hiding it farther away from a cliff, while still getting a scan of the unit.

Deployable Suryavor: Deployed over a mining beacon it can get better data on this type of ore, and in missions could provide more reaserches to improve the ore yield. It might also be able to discover a small 1 bar mine nearby where its deployed.

I don't see how an immobile scout could suddenly be able to scan better than a mobile one.

WHy would it need to deploy? Isnt it deployed when it stops moving? Having a little button there named "Deploy" doesnt do you any good.

And since theres only ever 2 kinds of ore and the moment you find out what kind of ore it is, you know the quality whats the point in having "advanced scanners"??

OMG

1 bar 2 bar 3 bar thats all you need to know

Scouts can see farther then any vec why would they have to deploy to get DETAILED INFO.  Its not like there is going to be a 3d rotation 360 sphere moving target screen.

What are you talking about approved? It sounds like you dont even know what youre talking about. The admins arent on the Genesis team. In fact, only the people working on Genesis know anything about Genesis. State the issue you are addressing in your ideas. Dont just post a solution, since nobody will know what youre talking about. You neve specified whether you were talking about OP2, a remake, OP3 or Genesis. Just because its in a Genesis subforum doesnt tell us much because most people post their ideas the first place they can :P
