Mini Map
« on: April 23, 2005, 09:26:53 AM »
Noticed something to day...

Firstly if you didnt know, the bottom line of maps is not part of the map, so a 128x128 map is actualy 128x127 tiles.

Im working on a 64x128 map and i noticed that the bottom line of the map is shown on the mini map!

Learn something new about Op2 everyday!

:D

i found out about this the hard way a couple months ago.. remember i had this renegades mission f*ck up all the time ?... its the 128th line that does that, thats why i had a script disable this bottom line (make it impassable), and YES it will get shown on the mini-map, which i also figured out -lol- in trying to set the bottom line to mountains or something .. it showed on the mini-map.. so all i could do was just make it IMpassable from the dll script.

I apologise for not mentioning this in that post way back then...     and thank you levi for posting it THIS time. I guess i just take some things for granted, and suppose other would understand what im trying to say, without actually telling them about it

Speaking of minimaps, I think I should mention in here that Globe minimaps don't work the way you think they should. The areas created by op2 below and above the map (the poles) are created based off of the top row of tiles. So if you do your bottom row one way and the top another way, the bottom won't look right.

I hope no one ever got confused while mapping like me <_<
