Were thinking of adding a icon feature on the forum where we give people permanent icons and maybe people can buy icons in the store. They would be by your name. Anyway im posting to ask for someone to help create icons and also think up icon ideas.

I was thinking a person whould have a mapper icon if they were a map maker. That would prolly just be the op2mapper icon.

So list of icons:

I think 32x32 would be good please, but there be resized to 16x16 im sure later. Plz save top quality format.

I don't see what kind of icon you'd really buy. All the suggestions seem to be more like badges for things you've done.

Not that I see anything really seriously wrong with the idea. (ZZJ you pessimist  :P ). If someone (else  :whistle: ) wants to put in the work, then sure. But this is no doubt going to eat into Hacker's time if this is going to be incorporated into the forums. What's his view on this?

But ZZJ does have a point. How would be keep track of it all? And how many icons can be displayed.

Well keeping track of it i dont think will be that hard, if someone becomes a mission programer we just add the icon to their list.

On the persons profile it would show all there icons.


And for the buying, if someone suggests icons that can be bought then were add em, yea thos ones u wouldnt buy. ^

And this is mine and hackers idea.

Well works me.

I guess you can buy icons relating to how much you've posted or how much ore you've collected. Such as "Spammer", "Super Spammer", "Scrooge", or "Philanthropist".

Hmm, what about negative badges bestowed on people who misbehave.  ;) You could be known as "Flamer", or various spinoffs. ("Napalm boy" anyone?) I guess "Spammer" also fits here.

Well, as for managing it, it would be integrated into the forum. Possibly a permanent part of the user's profile.

It really wouldn't be that hard to design and use.

As far as letting people "buy" icons, I don't know, but I think it's a good way to recognize people for achievement in our community (well, the part where we assign people icons)

buying icons is kinda a seprate thing, just a item store suggestion realy, if ppl can think up icons then great. and post em in store suggestion thread plz.

on this topic.. any titles i missed from the list? anything to add or change?

Yeah, I'm sorta wondering if some people will have so many titles it'll make them essentially meaningless.

What ideas have people got as to what the icons should look like? More ideas and submissions the better :)

I was thinking op2 icon with pic or text on top, and opu globe with pic or text on top.

I like the idea... especially considering I would get around 15 of the ones that were listed... well... if they were handed out for engaging in those various activities.

But I really do like the idea. It's another thing for people to look forward to.

There could also be special icons for certain people as well. I don't have any suggestions as of this time but I'm sure I could think of some (such as OP2 Champ, WD Red, WD Blue and things of that nature)

How about a badge for making badges?  :lol:

Then people would be awarded ore for making badges if people were awarded ore for getting badges. Hmm, I think that works a little too well.
