Wouldn't it be nice to make a installation thats ready as soon as you finish installing winxp. Here's a little guide to installing updates to winxp setup disk.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Open the commandline window
Start>>>Run>>>CMD
----------------------------------------------------------------------
make a directory on the hard dive named xpsp2_int\pro
mkdir Drive:\XPSP2_INT\PRO
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
now insert the winxp disk in the disk drive and use this command to copy the files from the CD.
xcopy D:\ Drive:\XPSP2_INT\PRO /E
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now we need a local copy of SP2. You can download the setup program or order a free CD from microsoft if you don't have a fast connection.
Order a CDDownload now-------------------------------------------------------------------------
once you have SP2 copy it to the main C:\ (or what ever drive XPSP2_INT is in) and run
Drive:\temp\i386\update\xxxxxx.exe /Integrate:Drive:\XPSP1_INT\PRO
Replace the xxxxxx with the file name for the SP2 setup program
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations you have updated the disk, but wait we're not done yet
since this part would take a long time to explain you guys can use this program called nlite to do the other stuff easier. I'll also add a website that shows how to add WMP 10 to the installation.
NliteAdding WMP10--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You guys can use the nlite program to make a bootable image file to burn to a cd after your done
.
Please post if you have any problems.
