Greetings!
« on: March 06, 2005, 03:35:16 AM »
OMG I am so happy I found an Outpost community! I have been playing this game off and on for years (OP1). I've all but mastered it, but obviously there is more to do. At some point I started trying to recreate the game with more complete mechanics, but trying to make my own 3D graphics took too long. I am very interested in the re-creation of this game with better gameplay. I completed isometric tile views, some new terrain types, and a few buildings (will try to dig it out of my archives for your amusement).

I have seen screenshots of a different version of this game than mine (maybe DOS?) I have no problems emulating DOS to play it, but I want to know where to find it. I have the original CD patched to v1.5. Screenshots which appear different to my version are found here: http://www.ibiblio.org/GameBytes/issue18/flooks/outpost.html

There seem to be improved lab interfaces and resource maps, and slightly different graphics. Or is that the project in progress?

Welcome to the OutPost Community. I feel almost new myself because of my long absence. I agree with Leviathan, if you liked OP1 then you'll love OP2.

Then the doc + the ships real holo doc knocked all the romulons out and started the seperation without knwing what the hell they were doing

Yeah mezza's right, then 2 defiants and a Nebulae engage the Prometheous, then a warbird or two show up and all the ships engage the Romulans.
