I guess it depends on how you define "sucks."
If sucks means, we don't like to play rush games that last <10min then yes, I suppose it is true. At least for me.
If it means, we just aren't very good at the game the answer might depend on a variety of factors. Yes, I'm probably not the greatest at the mash-the-buttons types of quick games, and certainly don't claim to be the best OP2 player ever (I know I am far from that) but I can hold my own in various situations. I'm sure this is true for other people as well.
I think the most important factor is not whether one is that skilled with the game but whether the game means anything to them / whether they enjoy it. I help run this place because I still find the game enjoyable. If I didn't, I wouldn't show up anymore.
Finally, to administrate a site you do need certain skills. I have many years' experience in setting up all of the different parts you need to make a website / webserver operate. (Unix administration, Apache administration, PHP / database programming, etc) as do many of the others. Without someone possessing these skills it would make the site very hard to run.
