Description:
Talk about air inside coloney for those assumed opposite.
Even if go with  that agricultre produce air, Or some building can also make breathable air. If too many people the colonist might start have problem with lack breathable air in the coloney from lack breathable air out there.

Like when there more colonist in Residence then it can hold. Or if just too many colonist in general.

This is a bad idea, because:
Doesn't fit with OP2, and in OP1 it really didn't do anything but waste 1128 turns or whatever. Besides, if there was breathable air then why would everyone be in all those self-contained buildings and tubes?

However, they can't survive forever in the tubes. In Op3, I don't think that that should hinder you from being able to do things, but if you run out of air, people start to die, and .... yeah..

I like this idea if it is with the CHAP type thing that omagaalpha proposed.

Hum... Okay, in OP2 the representative of the CHAP is the actual CC, it does the CHAP job, and we all remember what happened last time somebody tried terraforming >_>
However, maybe a tech for 'Independant Life-Support' can be made so the buildings don't 'die' when out of CC, they keep 'working' and having the colonists safe, you just can't control them because the control structure is no there

Thats a good idea. But some people might prefer the chap. I think that the buildings keeping there presure without a cc is good to.

lol THE CC doesnt do every thing geez people there building need that much power for a damn reason maybe its because they need to pressurize them selves.  the tubes they would have there own pressure system.  The CC if it were to pump that much pressure out i think the damn thing would explode.  A building that does presurization is a BAD thing WHY? because tht would be the first thing i would blow up and with out pressure you colonist will drink hard vaccuum.  the buildings need the CC for the Connections with the Savants so they can regulate things.  Each building would have its own presurrization units and O2 plant.  How it makes it O2 is a myster that shouldnt be solved because it would be pointless to know in the first place.

Then what about this? (Quote from outpost 1 help file)

CHAP Facility

The Closed Habitat Atmospheric Production (CHAP) Facility produces the basic life support gases your colonists need to survive, as well as by-products such as water.  Air is provided to other structures from the CHAP through the Tube system.

I know Outpost 2 and 3 are in a more advaced time period, but why not? I think that each building haveing its own air genarator is way better though. But why not both? Maby both is not needed but still why not?

I think we were talking about bringing back the CHAP or the sewage building. In my honest oppinion though, the gases and whatnot would be pressurized by the building itself, not by a CHAP. It's like freeza said, too risky.

Evil people like me who go right for the CC would love a building that would be weak and destroy the whole colony when blown up.

No buildings even as strong as the CC are easy to take out with some of the low tech weapons like Flares or novas not to mention if you get Acid RPG or Thors.

Thors will kill any thing that stand before them

The game won't be too interesting without CHAp or something like it. Maybe in the Campaign there will be a mission connected with Air: Your colony is low on air, capture/build CHAP to finish this scenario.

The game won't be realistic wthout Air diminishing, just like in Silent Hunter III, You ran out of Air, You fall down like a dead bug. dead is the right word for this situation
Gordon Freeman, and mr. Crowbar would own Master Chief in any part of the day.

Stop quoting Outpost 1. Outpost 1 is outdated and useless. And, it may just be me, but "Get air!" doesn't sound like a fun campaign mission to me...
