Disaster Poll?

I have not added the Blight or volcanos because they are in fixed location and will destory anything in their path. So I just have the random disasters.

I think the Vortexes is the worst possible disaster because it can appear right next to your command center and destory it, Where as Electrical Storms are not as destructive. And meteors you can defend from later in the game.

Earthquakes because you can't do anything about them and they blow up all your vecs!  (thumbsdown)

But vortexes only affect a small area, earthquakes shake the whole screen and more.

Depends.  In Plymouth campeigne mission 8 and the starship II colony game: vortexes.  you get 2 right next to your base and if you have any building within a certain distance of it, it goes to your base.  In the colony game, if you build in the orange area, a vortex comes down and destroys your structure factory at a certain mark.  In Plymouth campeigne mission 11: meteors.  60% of the time, you will get an asteroid coming down right above your structur factory.  During the missions you have to recover wreakage, electrical storm, as they cause enough damage to slow your units, making them easy targets for computer fire.

Any other time, earthquakes.  I've had an entire army whiped out by one, and it was my last defensive line against a computer strike consisting of EMP's and Thor's.

Vortexes wandering through your base is a pain in the ass. They WILL destroy anything in their part, unlike earthquakes who will damage units mostly(and these you can remove)

So therefor I vote for them!

I'd say vortexes over earthquakes. Earthquakes are mostly dangerous to vehicles with few hitpoints, but they're mobile. So if you've researched your advanved warning, your defense is simple. Move. As for the buildings, it's not often that a quake even destroys a small one. But if a vortex hits your base, you can expect to lose any buildings in it's way. Even CCs.


As for heat seeking vortexes....   <_<

Oh, yes, I did forget about those heat seeking vortexes I made.
Wiped out my entire base, stormy's entire base, and then followed his ConVecs with his new base all over the map!
And they were still there after 100 marks!

yea I thought about adding them but what they do is precoded not random and they will always destory anything. Were as the deadly Vortexes might leave before destorying your CC
