IRC Troubles
« on: November 21, 2004, 02:02:29 PM »
Aight I tried to connect to the IRC network through mIRC just now. I get almost instantaneously disconnected. I tried going to Quakenet's forums and it's like I've been banned from the damn thing or something like that...

I get some Apache error saying I don't have access to the server or something.  <_<  I dunno what the hell is going on but I need to be able to access the IRC network because I gotta take care of some stuff on there for my gaming network...

Is anyone else having the same damn problems as me?

Nevermind... seems as though IRC is working now although I still bet I'm probably unable to get into Q-net's forums.

Ive noticed that it is much slower with my firewall (software based), i think it is something to do with the firewall monitoring and blocking some of the ports

Enable TCP port 113 in your router / firewall. It will allow faster connections because the server can connect to your identd server (part of the IRC client).
