op2 map editor needs a palette option
« on: June 02, 2004, 03:57:55 AM »
...basically, i've been playing with the abuse editor... which allows me to place each square individually... or lets my place a group all at once...
basically, it means in op2 terms that you'd be able to place a whole mountain, not just do it square by square...

welp, i really think its something that the editor needs

Um, it will probably be done at some point but it's not too easy to implement.. (well simple ice mounds would be easy, but directional cliffs, etc are not easy to program)

thx for deleting my 2nd post op2hacker... :(

mrr, why would cliffs be harder? all you want is to be able to "stamp" an area with a collection of tiles known (thats basically what i mean)

if you haven't time to make the palletes yourself, then just program in the ability for the user to create them...

i.e. like the craters and stuff. course i think that it'd only be useful for impassable terrain... passible terrain ideally needs some for of "autoLAT" (or at least thats what its called in final alert) ... use choose groud type and brush size, and the program will auto place tiles (that match up) i.e. that plant stuff, or the orange sand or the grey sand ETC ETC

I think my editor already has this?(not the terrain-types thing, but the mass-pasting)
