I know I'm necroing this thread a bit, but I had run across this map before. I didn't think to bother at the time, but I went ahead and downloaded the map. Turns out it's broken on the current version of Minecraft, but fortunately the Minecraft launcher allows the selection of old versions of the game. I was able to load up the version from back around when this map was created, and I could open it and walk around.
I imagine it took the guy a little while. The buildings all have interiors, so it's a little interesting to walk through. The scale is pretty neat to walk around in though. Gives the buildings a bit of a real feeling, albeit a bit blocky.
If anyone wants to try it out, it'll run under Minecraft v1.6, which fortunately runs on the current Java platform.
