Multiplayer Resolution
« on: June 04, 2013, 03:50:20 PM »
Hi All.

I started playing OP2 years ago in '97.

Recently however my brother and i are having a revival of sorts on games we used to play.

Long story short, is there anyway to increase the window of the game interface without the engine crashing. looking at something that is 800 x 600 pixels on a 27" Monitor at 2560 x 1440 is straining my eyes.

Cheers

I think this is about the hard limit when it comes to the resolution you can use. There was a thread some time ago where Hooman (I believe) mentioned, that the game crashes and/or slows down on very, very high resolutions. But the game can handle some resolutions higher than 800 x 600 (im running it on 1680 x 1050 just fine), I just don't know how to help here. Maybe you can try slowly scaling the resolution up beginning with 800x600 to find out how high it can be turned.

Is this a problem that only occurs in multiplayer? I'm asking because of the title.

Edit: It was probably BlackBox who told about this.

Thanks for the feedback.

I have been manually editing the .ini file. I have it working at 1980 x 1080.

Although any higher and it doesnt start the game, not even main menu.

Also pressing maximise does crash the game.

Cheers

I believe it was BlackBox that first reported this. I don't have a monitor with a high enough resolution to crash the game.

But yes, editing Outpost2.ini is what I would have suggested. Then just avoid hitting the maximize button.
