You play it.  What further evidence is needed?  :P

I guess, its my turn to answer this.

First, let me make clear that evil != bad for me. The game can obviously be much fun for the many people who play it, also possibly could be much fun for me if I played it (but I honestly don't know). Also, I don't know most of the people who play it, hence I'm neutral about them.

BUT this game is obviously quite addictive. And thats why its evil: it consumes peoples time and keeps them from doing useful things. That is my only argument. And yes, I see it that way for all mmorpgs, maybe even most computer games (but lets not turn into that direction as that may lead to the thesis that op2 is evil).

i have played eve for 3 years for the most part its like any mmo you have to grid.  But its not all as bad as it seems because of the way the experience works.

instead of experience you have skills and skill points.  skill you have to buy with the in game currency known as ISK.  and that isk is all you need to grind for.  but the skills them selfs have 5 levels. so you can train them up to level 5 and you dont even have to be logged in other then to tell it to train it or add it to the queue.

pretty much the mechanics are all the same.  nothing exactly like wow tho.

I have been playing for 8 days and I think it's fantastic!
EVE is for people who want a challenge in their game. Also, in most mmorpg's the end game gets boring after awhile, in EVE there is no end game, it is for hardcore gamers.

I have yet to run into this though...

I have been playing for about 4 months and I could only make 290mil ISK (cost of PLEX in Amarr), IF I spent almost all my time getting money.

Paying with plex for a solo player is not really feasible unless you've been playing the game for quite some time and are in a good position to get money (market pvp, multiple accounts, 0.0 ratting etc).

Ratting in 0.0 with all the upgrades installed and not a huge number of people running them could easily get you 300mil in a couple of days assuming you are able to run the sites at a normal rate (i.e. tank them properly and being able to kill the rats at a reasonable speed). If this is spread out over a 30 day period which is what a plex is good for, it's really very little time spent at all.

Well to say you spend all your time making money in the game is irrelivant because in all games of this style there is the grind for money wow eve guildwars you name it your going to be making money some how to try to further your characters progress or equipement that you cant find easily.  How ever plex in eve i see as pointless unless you have a pretty stable income of money. right now i could probably make enough in a wormhole to never pay for eve again.  Ratting in 0.0 (killing npc ships in asteroids and anomalies (instances)) gets you the money the fastest but its not the best unless you can be left alone. the top ways to make money are Trading Mining ratting missions and pvp.  in that ordr for most to least income.
