Eden Population? Hun, on Easy, no enemies attack. If you mean Normal, I'll finish writing up my guides once I kick the AI's ass in Plymouth Starship (it's the only level I can't beat on hard...).

Get rid of an AI by killing it.

If you suck at OP2, get on IRC and we'll train you.  But expect to lose your first few games.

Also, there's no difference in the maps between original OP2 and the OPU version, except for the blue square in the top-left corner of eden2.map.

OMG, and I thought my game was glitching when I saw that blue square! Good to know that I didn't kill my OP2 install (yet) LMAO. Why is it there anyway?

And Eden Colony Pop has no enemies at all in Easy. Only in Normal and Hard. So, if you're getting attacked, then you didn't start an Easy game.

Indeed. I think someone editted the map and resaved it wrong. Just a guess, because there are SO MANY DAMN MAPS that use that same terrain. Anyways.

On Eden Pop Normal, it took me a LOT of tries to be able to defend myself, especially with what is it, only one ConVec? Or is that only on hard?

Anyways, first focus on morale (agridomes+residence until your people are no longer b****ing about sleeping in a tube), then get a S.Lab up, get a Uni/Nursery, then CyberTele for moar truckz and ConVec(s). Then WEPUNZ LUL.

Also a tip: If you colonize the mineral-rich right side of the map, the AI will roll over your old base and be content with that. They were programmed to go there, not chase you. However, on Hard (unsure about Normal), there are massive waves that periodically (the longer you play the more frequent) come from the southern plateau that WILL target your right-side base. So just make sure you've got an ample supply of 2:1 Thor:EMP Tigers. Toss in a few Acids for good measure if you want.

That blue tile has always been in the upper left corner of Eden 2.  Probably a bug in Dynamix's map editor.

On Eden Population (any) don't research weapons and you'll never get attacked.

Huh. Didn't know that. I'll have to try it out, lol. Then when my base is fully set and I have TONS of metals, THEN research Weaponry. :P

I never saw it on my old OP2.

But I've been attacked without researching weapons.

1) Learn to use the edit button if you want to add on to your posts.  Never post two or more posts in a row.
2) Stop having such spammy posts.  More than 1 smiley per line is excessive.
3) You're gonna need to know how to do a lot more than edit some .txt file to make an OP2 port of anything.
4) Having to hack the mission and delete the AI is not something to be proud of.  You are dishonored for your inability to beat the pathetically easy AI.

Not AI per se, just a cheater, computer controlled opponent that can't even defend itself from a real person with at least half-a-brain-cell.

My brain started bleeding reading those posts.

You're making me appreciate spikerocks101.

Just... stop or go the hell away and die!

(If any doubts linger, this was directed to fire team zu.)

With practice, I could end up beating the game on Normal. And I used to suck bad, now I just suck  :P

I would also call the game's AI as very considerate at times and very INconsiderate at other times.

Just accept the fact a lot of your content can be annoying to some people. Only then can you co-exist with the Internet.

No it's not.

(Says one of the people who beat it on Normal by rushing Eden's main base and then playing with the smaller one).
