Why the hell are all these debates locked?? I want to add replies to some of these... I read an entire article just to reply to something that was locked! Jesus Christ!

We / I deliberatly lock/close all old topics so that old debates/conversations which are long dead don't "re-appear".  If you want to reply to a locked topic then start a new one and reference the old :)
