Ok before you vote.

The chains gun the classic rapid attack rape all weapon of soft targets.  How ever the Chain gun is also capable of tank busting.  The Vulcan on a A10 Warthog is proof.

Now given that op2/3 armor is better then todays.  It would have to pepper the hell out of the target in bursts because the barrels get hot.  It is a air cooled weapon after all.  I would say this weapon would paralel the Laser and Microwave.  Only it would be a pure Concussive force.

There are also some other Slug Chucker weapons I would like to put up but ill wait to see how this one turns out.

sorry for the blackness on the barrels i fixed it havent taken a new shot.

It could for a couple reasons.

1. In the story Della is killed presumably by something hitting the window from the outside (putting a hole in it and sucking anyone inside out).
Chainguns could be used to do something like this, where it does little damage to the building (self repairing window) but kills their colonists.

2. It would be great for units like scouts, earthworkers, surveyors because these units aren't armored at all.

Only issue I can see is the air cooling issue. Things on New Terra can't be aircooled very easily, simply because the atmosphere is very thin. There'd have to be active cooling of some sort, whether it be by refrigerant or whatever.

What if some buildings had a chaingun placed unto them, like a Command Center or a DIRT?  This may solve some issues with rushing...

But I don't believe that vehicles like Earthworkers or Scouts should be equiped with them.

Why not put a weapon on every vehicle/building?
don't ask me why, but I do NOT at all like that idea. Its not op2 for me.

If you can't defend against rushes, you should learn to. A change of gameplay wouldn't be a good solution.

When i say weapon i mean lynx panther tiger its a combat weapon.

The window on the CC was altered to explode because some one put some kinda of shock activated explosive in them.  and they said it was a mini meteor I believe.

The Cooling is why this weapon fires in bursts.  Plus how are the rest of the weapons cooled.

I like this idea, make a topic in the think tank if you'd like.

It would be a combat unit, it would be VERY un OP2 ish to make it in CCs and whatnot. Leave it on the vehicles :)

Yes i had no intention of putting it on a building other then a GP and i would object to it being used on a building.

although I do remember in the noliva a renagade faction did put weps on non combat structures and units, mabe in the game have a renagades like mission with weard customized units like that, it would bring in some variety

Yes sounds good to me. However even with heavy armor that thing looks like the slugs it fires would eat through anything. But who would get it eden plymonth or both?

It believe it would work, but only should of been implemented if some sort of air unit was introduced. It would of also been useful against Plymouth's projectile weapons (to shoot then in flight), but Eden would no doubt see it as "primitive" and never used it. However, I do think it should of been used on the arachnid units of Plymouth in place of the energy weapons they used.
