Blender is essentially a free 3D suite that offers many of the features of commercial 3D suites (such as 3D Studio Max). It can render some pretty stunning effects and stormy has become quite good at what he does.

As far as the rest of what we're using (relisting everything):

Commercial Tools
MS VC++ 7.0
Blender3D
MilkShape3D
Adobe PhotoShop
WinZIP/WinRAR (Resource Groups)

Proprietary Tools
OP3Mapper
3D Mesh Viewer
Real-Time Matieral Editor
Particle Script Editor
GUI Layout Editor
Various command-line utilities for optimizing various files
Various Testing packages
