Scouts are already quite useful: They can be used for rushes and they warn you if enemy units are close. Can't expect more for 250 common.

Not to mention that changing scouts would change the gameplay for no good reason. I still think that changes in functionality of units or structures should be limited to what is needed for better balance. If you want better scouts, take that idea for a sequel. Outpost 2 shall stay Outpost 2.

I agree with TH300 here.  I think they are useful as they are now.

Interesting. I never really found any use for them except for suicide bombers. As a well-experienced RTSer I always check my map for slowly moving 'cloaked' units. In other RTSs the scout is useful because there is the fog of war. In Outpost 2 the closest thing to it is the night cycle with vehicle lights off.

Maybe its just me, but sometimes I find myself in a situation where I wouldn't notice approaching enemy units at full daylight, because I'm too busy caring about other stuff.

Not just you TH300 ;)

I often place scouts on the approaches to my base, or create a screen on one of my flanks.
That way I either get warning, or force my enemy to approach from another side.
There can be Only one. Wipe Them out. All of Them.

Old player still playing. Visit Spark for a game of Outpost 2

That's when your enemy decides to use scouts to trigger multiple warnings at the same time :P

Why not we add a weapon turret to a scout to do 50% of normal damage?

Nah, it's a recon vehicle.  They didn't add weapons systems to the SR-71 Blackbird

Of course not. It could fly! Who needs weapons when few if anything can hit it?

a black bird can be shot down. and it was a spy plane not ever ment for combat. but the scouts are fine the way they are. they can be used as bombers they are very usefull in unit detection. they do no need a weapons because then you could spam the s*** out of them instead of lynx and have scout rushes. so this is a bad idea. leave the poor scout alone.

It's a scout/recon (SR) vehicle, it is faster than the combat units.  Let it be
