The New And Improved Friday Bash

Well, after a medium amount of people on the IRC daily, it seems only right to restart Friday Bash, but this time improve it a bit, by having weekly themes. Themes will mostly be a new mod or map, and can be useful if you want to show you new stuff off. I know several people are working on new maps, and so this will be cool to test. I will try to get some better stuff to show off too, but can't promise anything.

IRC (internet rally chat) is the way we chat. I suggest you install mIRC or NoName Scipt, but if you just want a quick chat, use the web based IRC. We use Netfix mainly, which comes with Outpost 2 1.3.5 beta 2, and is located in Multiplayer -> Serial. We also use Hamachi at time, but I discourage it.

This weeks theme is going to be the age old Difficulty Mod V666, or just DM666. Come on this Friday for some battles and see if we can get a 6 player game finally, and of course, even if it's not Friday, stop by and say hi.

Lastly, who thinks Empile is a good abreveation for emp missile?

Actually, this week's theme is DM666Z (download here), which is much more user-unfriendly than DM666.  To be honest, I was just joking when I said it, but if you want let's do it!

Yes, I have thought of that. Not the same as IRC, but it should work.

Hmm, maybe I can bring my currently active project to the end of its current phase, making it worthwhile to play, though largely incomplete. There still are ways to break the game, most notably players quitting, so it would be recommended that only players who know what they're doing play it.

An advantage to this on my side would be having it out there for bug revealing. Although I made quite sure that nothing remains broken, the number of things piling up is making it harder to keep up with.

I'll just keep working on it, as much as my half-asleep nature and other obligations permit and if I deem it worthy, I shall put it up. Exact details to be released upon the demo release.

This week's theme is Survivor.  For those unfamiliar with Survivor, here's the basic premise:

Terraforming experiments have gone horribly wrong, resulting in the Blight being unleashed.  You must continually relocate your colony, steadily building up your population, resources, and technology so you can construct a new evacuation starship.  Along the way, you can team up with other players, or fight amongst yourselves.  If there's a hostile AI though, it's generally in your best interest to work together to destroy the threat and win together.

So basically it's a mix of Land Rush/Last One Standing, Space Race, and the Campaigns.

You can find the various Survivor maps at these places:
Caught in the Crossfire (4P; Co-op vs hostile AI)
Forsaken World (4P; teams recommended but not necessary)  Note: 5P version available, but it's lame, so we don't play it.
Darkest Hour (4P; combat recommended)
Judgment Day (6P; teams/combat optional)

What on gods green earth oh ya its gone.. well any ways i was playing with the vehicles file and it changed all the names of the vehicles to buildings. if you want the file that did it i am happy to give it to you... as soon as i fix a little problem with it

your mod is to frustrate right? then why not change the names so no one can tell what they are until they build them? i did it to my brother and he got pissed when he built a Thor's hammer tiger and got a lynx solar flair

1) The names have already been replaced.  If you'd played the mod you'd know this.  Try learning about things before you suggest changes to them.
2) Your idea is stupid.  Stop messing with the sheets if you don't know what you're doing.

Well, changing the positions in build lists would also make it so even if you can recall the order in which they are listed, you still won't get the right one :P
