Before I found OPU I got used to 640x480.
And now my Question:
Is 1024x768 better than 640x480?

You mean to ask if having a broader view of the map is better or not?

Yes, it is much better. And since it does not stretch the view, any resolution you feel comfortable with is good.

Of course, more OP2 window means more drawing on the screen, which is more taxing on system resources.

Like that's a big drain on modern day computers.

Yes, but your computer's ability to overheat is legendary.

I noticed a significant slow down on my 800 MHz machine when playing full screen. But whatever. If it's too taxing, you can always just shrink the window or something.

Personally, I can't stand 640x480 anymore. It's way too low resolution. I feel blind when I'm only able to see that much of that map.

If you're going to raise your resolution, and something about your system isn't 100% efficient with OP2 (such as a dual/quad core processor (Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4 all give me a hard time about that)), it might be a good idea to open the task manager and change the priority (or in the case of multi-core processors, the affinity)
