I play halo 1 online with other players(pc) and it rocks.
It's a good first person shooter game that takes place a little ways into the future(not too distant). And the main charactor's name is the 'Master Cheif' or 'Spartan-117' and you battle the flood(sorta zombie related) and the covenuent (aliens for short). I hope everyone here who never played it gets addicted to it. its a microsoft game played on pc, xbox, and xbox360.....

Typical Sirbomber response. If it isn't Outpost 2 it's garbage.

I rather liked Halo. It was pretty good for LAN games. I didn't much like how much you had to shoot people to kill them though. You really needed vehicle weaponry to kill anyone with any ease. I really enjoyed the tank. :)

Gordon Freeman, and mr. Crowbar would own Master Chief in any part of the day.

+ Spartan's teammates would kill him because of bad AI.
That is why I only play op2 xD

Actually, that's not why I don't like Halo; I don't like it because it's a cheap (and poorly made) Tribes knock-off.

I don't like console FPS games.

Halo 1 was released for PC - but by the time it was, there are X number of other better FPS games out.

Well said. Some are okay, but most of them are like driving a runaway train.
Could be worse though. Could be a console RTS...

I used to play PC "competetively", i.e. in Klanwars and Halo PC Tournament (HPT).  I quit a few weeks ago and I don't plan on going back.  (I got it at the end of 2004, and started playing matches around mid-2005.)

I just dont like Halo because EVERYTHING based on FPS is compared to it, 'Halo-Beater' comes to mind (shudders hard)

At least Sirbomber was quite blunt with his decision, lol

That does not define a good game, same as how celebrity does not define a good actor/actress.
Not often, at least.
Is OP2 not a good game? And yet only maybe a few hundreds (at best) know it and agree with it.

But I must say there's (much) more to halo than meets the eye.
The game was made with humor, and so it's got lots of eastereggs, and quite a few reference to another game-series they made, (and the number seven).

There's an incredible story behind it; wich I really like. It's all thought through really well. Heck, I even liked their Iris-campaign to announce/advertise Halo 3!
It has the same I-want-to-read-through-the-entire-story-and-background-info as  :op2: and the half-life series.

True Halo 1 started mediocre at best, but (thanks to M$'s support) it grew to a lot more.

my option isn't there:

I played it, but I didn't like it.

Now Assassin's Creed, that is fun!
halo is to easy so i dont like it that much
.....you probably never got into it like a true gamer...and most likely only played campagns...the campaigns are the easy part... but halo 3 on xbox live is a chalange....(this is just an edicated guess)

and by the way...theres somthing called "halo custom edition" incase you guys out there who think only mmo and rpg can "improve" themselfs... your wrong..the website HERE they are a comunity just like us....just like op2...they make new maps...they have tags (ingame objects placed) new content mounthly and have their own programs....more complicated then c++ (thats the program "gmax" talking for you programers out there :P) its..

overall...
#1very popular...
#2has high ratings
#3it has programers and testers and such so if you even think that over all halo is junk...your only hurting all programers everywhere... mostly your selfs .(thumbsdown)
#4 they have a bigger and more fan sites....
#5 im not trying to force you to change your minds....im just wanting respect for halo...(might be sirbomber's coment that led to this who knows)...

I stand by my previous idea.

Just because 1 million people like it, doesn't make it good. It could be 1 million idiots for all I know and all you can prove. Truth is I don't know anything about it, but I'm kind of annoyed by what you're passing about here.

Think about the fan base of WOW. Is WOW a good game? Flashy, yes, lots of people like flashy, but definitely not that good.

'till now, we got #1.

#2 rating are generally BS. Take DS ratings. FF has immense ratings, whilst game like Knits in the Nightmare (which I've recently finished and liked a heck lot) have crappy ratings. Probably because the latter has complexity and difficulty, which FF does not. Feeding off the laziness of the players does NOT make it good.

#3 Programmers are not the holy class. I'm a programmer, but I'm a beginner at best. What if there's lots of people like me doing stuff to HALO? It only takes a bit of brains and some determination to do it.

#4=#1

#5 Forcing someone to respect something is a direct path to disrespect towards yourself mostly. Some people judge for themselves. Those who can't judge for themselves, no comment.

Praise the words of the all-knowledged one known as "Hidiot"...! (thumbsup)

i like both games...but op2 is better in my opinion...so don't get me wrong in this thread...id take op2 anyday over halo if i had to choose...though to tell the truth if i was coming to this thread from outside it(as a nuetural voice) id say "there is no right or wrong anser of what games are good or not... just depends on the player's tastes, that's all..and opinion..and we know everyone has a different opinion..which i have stated and you have stated.. so let's keep it at that..there are alot of ways to look at it..

btw i mess up when im bored..

That one line... is a testimony to failure.

If I seem all-knowledgeable to you, then you have some really low standards.
