Critical Mass?
« on: September 19, 2006, 12:46:30 PM »
I was playing a colony game (Eden Starship Hard) today, and was just about to wipe the last Plymoth colony off the map. All of a sudden, my Savant told me that "Our People Are Dying". I immediately switched to my Communications panel, and I saw that scientists, children, and workers were dying by the dozens. No disasters, full DIRT protection, I had a pretty high med/residence/rec facility demand, but all three were rapidly lowering as the structures were being built.

I don't get it. Three seconds later, I lost the game.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, defenitly starvation.   Whatch those savant messages on food storage!   ALWAYS keeping it at surplus will prevent the starvation.
There is no critical mass, only a population limit, and I think its 4096 people?    AI gets that for free.

yeah, i was. but i did encounter a problem like that. i maxed out really fast (i think i was testing a trainer) and they suddenly starved. I hadnt even wanted more colonists; i was testing if running OP2 in other settings would effect the trainer. (like safe mode, etc)
