Dunno Real Clearly What I'm Suggesting

The Spaceport can hold up to 6 satellites/starship components.  I usually use all of 1.  Once you build one component, by the time the next one is finished you've launched the first one already.  And the SULV can only hold one at a time.  Perhaps some use for all that empty space can be thought up...

Also we need more kinds of satellites - EDWARD and solar just don't cut it :)

Possibly have a seperate window like a PIP on TV? (picture in picture, you can watch 2 channels at once)

I like the spy satelite idea. Freeza, I don't get what the point of looking at planetary fluxuations is.

That was kinda the point.
Or, you could develop teleportation and just teleport explosives into your foe's CC's.
And then open a portal to Hell and accidentally get shipments of chainsaws and develop plasma guns and BFG's. Hmm. One out of 4 isn't bad.

Artillery doesnt sound like a good idea.  Why?  Because if you ever played any game with some kind of artillery it is spammed like crazy.

well like in warhammer you can only build 3 long range artillary and i use them to try and kill the enemy but they can move out of the way if they are looking, and the special ablity of that particular artilary can DEVESTATE an enemy rly bad but it takes resourses to make that shell and fire it ONCE, lol

How about hunter killer satellites that latch onto the enemy's satellite after a random amount of time after launch, and blow it up.  This could also be used to damage starship components, and if you attach to a damaged component it would then be destroyed.  You could create a repair device which could repair damaged sections

Oh and Betaray, your mass driver artillery idea?  you could do that in OP1 as a cheat code.  It annihilated the entire Rebel colony.  We'd have to scale that one down some.

I think its a good idea. We could have 3 new satalites.

1. Orbital Observer (spy satalite)
2. Communications/Navagational satalite
3. Laser Satalite (Huntter Killer)

I dont like the Idea of Hunter Killer sats you want to worry about the weapons on the ground not any thing in orbit.

If you mean A as in 1 you could use it to monitor your own colony. We could have them lunched when we first arive at Cythera and have our view as the Observer satalite.

If you mean A as 2 Part A, then you could use the Communication/Navagational Statalite to communicate in mulitplayer in an interface that opens when you activate it, this wouldnt be of use in single player, so it would also be a navagational satalite that provides the cowardent system for the map, multi and single player.

Im vary glad you think my idea was good lordly_Draggon. :D

I agree Fresa that there shouldnt be a Hunter Killer one but I just put it there to sugest a better name if it is used.

What do you mean monitor your own colony you do all that stuff in the main window.  The Navagation system is pointless as well because you move s*** around yourself.

The hunter seeker sat. could be made to eliminate asteroids / meteors instead.

Also another type of space payload (dubbed the Orion mining system) could be used to mine off world mines suchs as moons or asteroids. These wouldn't be in danger of attack due to their mobility. Also the Hadar sat. system enables players the ability to fire Emp charges at enemy sat's rendering them temporarily offfline but not blasted. This would allow the termite orbital system to capture enemy sat's.
Another sat. would be able to send power down to convec's causing them to build faster. And yet another sat. would be able to fire a laser that would make slopes for vehicles where cliffs were or it could be set to buldoze and area of 4 squares by 4 squares or even target individual vehicles NOT BUILDINGS!!
