We are going through another server switch this time, this time to a faster one with less users on it.

We are still kindly hosted by Galactic, who now has a VPS (Virtual Private Server) which is the machine serving this webpage right now :)

As a result the site URLs might be goofy for a while with IP addresses and such. This will be fixed as the domains are migrated over.

There may be temporary outages on various OPU sites as data is migrated. These shouldn't last more than 5 or 10 minutes as we just have to back up the databases and files and move them over to unpack.

If you experience any problems or long outages with the server migration please contact Galactic or myself, we will take care of the problem if it relates to a server issue.

About how long will the migration take? What kinds of outages can we expect?
It sounds like the forum sign-up is giving people problems. I will report any other issues I hear about.

migration is happening in stages.

Currently parrell conversion is occuring on webpages and such so that there is minimal work to be done on that side when the final switch occurs

Yes, we'll have FTP and such... and mysql again.

Seems like more than a few problems lately.. I'll be looking into them.
