Mission pack 1

First official release of Renegades will work with the new OPU version of Outpost 2 - no bad hacks necessary anymore. Thanks to Hacker for working it out!

If all goes well, we may add the new Colony game to the Renegades' release...

And with the release date getting closer, i've spent my weekend building a setup package of Renegades mission pack 1 to work with the upcoming OPU version 1.3.4.

Statistics:
Total package size .. 5MB
Installed size ...... 29MB
Number of missions .. 4

Briefing is now packed into Renegades as well.
I've gave op2 a cosmetic make-over again, it now looks even cooler.

Doing some last minute testing, i cleared out a couple small bugs still from mission 1 and a crash in mission 2, caused by the implementation of the Events that replace the Trigger-system entirely: i forgot to update some of the indirect code to accomodate the "migration".. that's worked out now.

Mission 3 had a more serious bug in it.
The problem with this one was that it did not appear on each go. I was able to finish the mission without a problem at one time, while having OP2 crash completely on another attempt.

I tracked down a routine that caused problems before. I thought i solved it but op2hacker corrected me. So now i've solved it (again) in an other way.

I managed to add some more innovative ideas to Renegades that will make it stand out against outpost 2 divided destiny. I'm finilizing the setup package now, adding the latest novella chapters & mission updates.

1 bug found so far:  the people who downloaded renegades before 1.40am GMT, feb 18 and installed the "1.3.4" version did not have in-game music, because of a bug in the modMgr within op2ext.dll packed with Outpost version 1.3.4

Solution: re-install renegades using the "1.3.3" option, even if you have 1.3.4 installed.

Please be advised that this will overwrite the op2ext.dll file with another version. At this moment it is unclear wether this is a newer or older version: Outpost 1.3.4 setup may have been posted using an older version of op2ext... we won't know until op2hacker takes a look at this.

------------
op2ext.dll:

packed with 1.3.4:
Size= 40960 bytes
Date= Wednesday, February 15, 2006 21:30:00

packed with renagdes:
Size= 40960 bytes
Date= Wednesday, February 15, 2006 22:08:16
------------

My version is 38 mins newer > so use the one that comes with Renegades !

I have to admit you have done a GREAT  :D  :D  job with Renegades HOWEVER there is a problem I experience in the game that u should know.  the game crashes on mission 3.  I dunno if it's what I have done (I got almost 8k in foor stored) or the fact that I have 5 convec's at evac site or the fact that I evac'd many lynx and no robo-dozer but the point is that it CRASHES  :angry:  :angry:  :angry:  and I can't load my saved files from beta mission 3 (I didn't think they'd load/work)

This is not related to renegades as a whole, rather then just 1 single mission, and probably at certain circumstances. If you can reproduce the error, let me know how.

Also it is vital to tell me what version of op2 you are running (1.3.3 or 1.3.4)

I was wondering, is moral meant to be steady on 99 on mission 3? It seems a bit odd to me for a campaign mission to have moral steady.

it's not suppose to
you start out pretty low, but can go up fast when u have an agri & residence up. I have it up at 99 pretty fast
[edit] if you're playing on "TOO easy" it's forced to 99 -- that's why it's call TOO easy :P

I see.

Also, how do you use the spider in mission 4? It seems useless without at emp.

I believe several others would be able to answer that!
Just keep doing what you are doing - besides, it can do field repairs upto 50%

1.3.4 on XP SP2. It happens every time. It also crashes if you try to close it from the ingame "Exit Outpost 2" button. It closes fine from the main menu, though.

Renegades is great i like where your goin with the game.  While this isnt really a serious bug or anything i figure i would mention it.  In mission 3 at some point at the top mine in eden colony the cargo trucks after picking up ore there dump it after a few seconds and go back to get more.  I dont know if this is just because there ore might be full but i figure i should mention it just for fun.
