Great thats the one you need to get.

On the left hand side there are a bunch of channels, #Outpost2 is the main one, talk in there.

We meet there to play multiplayer and chat, you need to be setup to play before you can play with people, info here:
outpostuniverse.net/multi.php

To change your name type /nick <nick> on a window.

Hope to c u on irc soon.

Download this:
OPUNNSIRC.zip

Unzip it!

Run mIRC in the new folder and it should load up and connect.

Try typing one of the following in the chat line at the bottom, press enter after typing the command:

/server uk.quakenet.org
/server de.quakenet.org
/server se.quakenet.org
/server us.quakenet.org

This should try a different server to use for IRC. If you still can't connect, perhaps your LAN or ISP has prevented IRC usage (Some companies, schools, and ISPs don't like IRC).

What error do you get on connection?

Do you have java installed, have you tryed the web based client on our site (here)?

What is the error, why wont it connect?

You could also try geting mIRC from mirc.com and seeing if that connects to any server. If will have QuakeNet in its list, that is the server we are on. If you get connected type '/join #outpost2' to join our channel.

I dont c why our download is not working. It does have multiple QuakeNet servers in its list, you could try a few.

No I dont think i evea met him on WON. Would be great if old players came back to the game and joined us once again :)

Well stick around on the forums warwalker and take part. Hopefully your get on IRC sometime.

I might work on a irc client that dosent need to connect to port 6667 of a irc network. Your school must block 6667 and other ports. But its not blocking outgoing connections. You can get on websites :)

Maybe you can help me test my program and seeing if it connects.

there is this quakenet server called "port80". did you try that already? (you have to adjust some settings in mirc before it uses the right port)

TH300 the Port80 QuakeNet server ports are standard ones, 6666-6670 & 7000. Port80 is a company who hosts a QuakeNet server like any of the other servers.

Even so, many schools use stateful packet inspection where it actually checks the content of the packets to be sure it is HTTP(S) and not some other protocol.

My school used, and I think still uses that, to prevent non HTTP connections outside of their network. (It is still possible to use HTTP even on a non standard port)

In that case, you would have to use http tunneling.
