the irc port will usealy be blocked, and most school systems dont have java and flash etc.

we have a java irc client on the site.

actually, every computer ive came accross has had java and flash, due to most educational websites like to use it liberaly =.=; .

you could try using one of the alternate ports, but theres a fat chance thats gonna work. usually school suse a sort of proxy to filter material, and to block ports.

lmao  school are really dumb too sometimes  first you dont give acces to the regedit and the command.com witch i can at my school and if you were smart you would use ethereal right before a teacher or some1 who got authoritie to catch is accout/password then u are really clear to do what you want :)

you could try using a CGI:IRC, its server based.

Go on google and search for "CGI:IRC login" (w/ quotes) and you might find something. The operative thing is, it needs to let you use quakenet, and pick your own chans to join.

I have IRC at school before a long while ago but it worked.  I guess you just have to hope that the systems Admin is a dumbass and didnt block ports.  You could always try a remote desktop to your comp but that would be a little slow.  Oh yes ZZJ stop calling it Queernet because if its a queer why are you on it.

I'm using IRC from university right now... Bouzip shouldn't they allow you to do it?

There are CGI IRC's that work, I used them from high school a couple times before.
Slow but they work.

Here you have to 'register' the network adapter MAC address before you can do anything online. Check to be sure you don't have to do any such procedures.

And yeah, let's avoid calling it queernet.

My univ doesn't have any policies against IRC usage or gaming so long as you don't break copyrights or create denial of service or other problems for other users.

Lol.. well so can all the other EXE's and DLL's that get installed...

Sure it *can* be a virus (yes, you could put a virus in an OP2 DLL... If I find anyone doing that they'll be permanently banned though...)

So he complains about the DLLs but not Outpost2.exe.... I fail to see the proper thinking in that... <_<

I cant access IRC from school, its behind a proxy server then a firewall, which i think is then tunneled to another proxy server which of course will have a firewall in front of it.

So in total i have 4 problems accessing IRC. 2 firewalls and 2 proxy server.  then i ahve the problem of java apps being disabled, so there goes the web irc

yeah, go start -> run and type 'cmd' if ur on a WinNT-based os [XP, 2000, etc], otherwise put 'command' [Dos-Based] , and hit enter. Then follow isntructions as posted above.
