If you want, I can create the source graphics for a snow/ice terrain for you. Have a lot of experience with 2D graphics... :) (it's what I grew up with!)

Anyway, All I need is a template just to show me were tiles go (even the original set would work).

I would really like to help and add content to the OP2 scene.

Lev is as far as I know, with some help from other people (numbered the tiles in paint, till we realized there are programs to do that for you)

This is a conversion of.. I'll let you guess the game. :P

looks nice, although it takes away from the typical op2 feeling. Maybe thats what we need to make the game interesting again for some people.

Sure looks interresting to me.
I want to know more about it, and if it's possible to let a mission dll choose which tileset to use. That way we can make tileset-specific missions, like on most other RTS games.

Also, i'd like to look at the possibility to add this to renegades :D

The tile sets are selected by the .map file. So you can easily do this for Renegades if you're making your own maps.

And is it possible to ADD more tiles ?  (so we can add the grass set to the existing one) ?  OP2 gives you the possibility to select upto 0xFFFF different tiles

Yeah, theres only a possibility of using 2048 mapping indexes at a time. A still tile or an animated tile, both use one mapping index.

Keep in mind, if you've loaded all the original tile sets, almost all of the mapping indexes are used up alread. (Somelike 2012 out of 2048 I think?) Anyways, not much room for adding new tile sets unless old ones can be removed first.

hehe when I started the movie I was like "hey I know that mountain but from what?" and then after some time it showed the metal patch and I knew it . Nicely done! can you do a desert version? Deserts allways look very nice in TA.

Any images can be done into Outpost 2. if there is a nice one for TA, converting it to OP2 is quite easy.

Also, sorry guys for not releasing this yet but I only have a 2 player map finished, and even that needs some work.

mew, i just wanna point out that you didn't create teh tileset, you just manipulated it for use in op2

its the forest/green planet tileset of total annhilation, right down to the metal deposits.

good job in converting it, just remember not to say that you created it though (and its also not a new tile set exactly either)

oh while i'm posting this, how do you know if an area is bulldozed? cos the "bib" that typically goes around a building looks the same here.
so how do youknow what terrain features affect speed?

same as in normal Ezekel, the smooth tiles are the dozed ones.

Any more maps coming out with this?
Maybe even remake some of the old ones like this? (I guess the terraforming worked)
Maybe make the lava blue, call it water, and make sure there aren't any volcanoes. (you can pre-place non-lethal lava, right? Lava only kills if it moves onto your buildings/vehicles?)

Yeah, you can place lava and the game will treat it as so. (Impassible)

Technically it doesn't have to be "Lava" so to speak, you can use the lava tile images and make it impassable.

Any more maps? Not sure about ones from Lev.

You're welcome to make some if you want though. More info on the wiki  ;)

Download and install Greenworld, then the mapper.

Go to http://wiki.outpostuniverse.net/Greenworld_Palette for the latest palettes.
