What type of tilesets do people most wanna see for Outpost 2?

Any other ideas, etc?

and is it possible to retouch the graphic like i dont know if we are in a green world put some green like the army tank or in snow put white and grey that would be cool

You can repaint units by editing the op2_art.prt or bmp.
For this, you have to wait for an editor.

As some of you know, I recently finished a very simple image replacing feature for the op2art viewer.
I hope to get it posted soon once I'm sure there are no major bugs in it.
Hopefully it'll help.

You can also patch the exe at runtime, which minimizes space elsewise need by a completely new prt / bmp.
However this is only recommended for advanced coders.

Oh - Ideas?...

I like to see desert with really yellow sand.
Also mars surface with really red sand.
(the tone of new terra is something in between, you know)

Hmm... I'd love to see an Asteroid or Moon terrain... or maybe a Lavaworld, Plains or Arctic terrain.

Has anyone thought about converting the StarCraft tilesets for OP2 use? They're stored in a similar format, I believe. (Squares of about the same size)

Im not sure how good the StarCraft tilesets would look for OP2. SC is isometric. Tho i think the tilesets are stored normaly then the game makes them isometric. Anyway- it could be done.

Thx for ideas, id like to c all of these as well. Keep em coming, and if anyone wants to make a tileset from scratch or has found one that can be converted, great.

Yea, I've thought of an indoor tileset, but skipped the idea, because I have no time to work on it. Would be great if you or someone else could make this.

I also was a old red alert player and id like to c this tileset.

First step for any skins is geting the gfx of it. So if people can get the gfx for tilesets they wanna c thats great, one step at a time.

i got RA 1 on cd somewhere.. if only i can find it again, in some old shoebox here or there.. i'll be happy to check wich files contain the tilesets

You're correct, SC stores them as "mini-tiles", the same size as an OP2 tile. Then the engine combines these mini-tiles to make isometric tiles. That's how we get cool SC things like square terrain.

When I'm alittle less busy, I'll try to convert the SC Ashworld tileset into an OP2 tileset.
