No, that'd suck, because then somebody would break into your house just to turn them on at midnight and make everyone hate you.

I figured it was fake... But I liked the idea of them being real, music and all, and the cat or something hitting the switch at two in the morning.

what people?

I think its real, because there is a flashing light in the background thats eather a security alarm light, or a radio tower in the background, and it never looses rythem, wich proves that the vidio isnt cut and pasted

Well actually, it'd be pretty easy to make it stay in rhythm, with video editing software.

Lights in the real world would NOT stay in sync.

I can't see the lights.
if anyone finds and communicate to us that which thus far has eluded our efforts, great will be our gratitude.

Turns out that this was really done... cost about $10K, but it's real.

Also, I know the equipment necessary to produce this kind of lighting effect and it's totally possible... but it takes hours to sync all the lights together to a particular tune.

Plus, the video wasn't faked. The 'shadows' that are jumping around aren't shadow's of people. They are artifacts created by the video compression. Basically video frames are interpolated between eachother (not like in computer animation) and every second you get a keyframe and the process starts all over again. That's where the 'jerky shadows' come from.
