punboy, take a photo of the broken one, I could probably help you repair it if it is structural damage.

it would cost you less to replace them, in most cases.  Also, you can do one of two other things as well:
1) use parts from the laptop to repair the computer (it can be very tricky, so I wouldn't do this)

2) if the laptop is new enough to have USB ports, you can get an adapter and use your computer keyboard.

I'm sure there is someone on here who might be willing to donate, but I'm saying just in case...

If I were you, I'd look at getting a new comp, I've seen some great deals lately on really great computers ($99.99)

You can't, they have totally different form factors and are very incompatible.

Doesn't the laptop have a PS/2 port? if so, connect your old keyboard to it.

If not, see if you can pop off the keys and clean the buttons / key matrix.

Checking acct. ? Pain to set it up cuz you have to "verify" that they deposit two 30 cent or so amounts, but it would work.

I'd donate but I ate got no moneys'  :heh:. You should go AMD and save a whole lot more money if all your buying is the mobo, processor, and ram. Like CK9 said you could buy computers for as low as $99. Here's an Example (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=669615&Sku=MBM-AK32VN-2200&CatId=188)

Punboy the only post that I looked at in this topic is yours. I need my sleep and at the moment I'm too lazy to read through the whole thread. LoL. If someone wants a good site to get computer parts from, go to newegg.com or geek.com

Geek.com has a search engine that searches through many online vendors (including newegg.com) for the product you're looking for.

Newegg.com is just flat-out awesome, though I was able to get my Nvidia GeForce FX 5700LE w/ 256MB DDR 550Mhz RAM and a 500Mhz core for a better price through Geek.com I'll throw in a good word for the online vendor, "Legend Micro". They got my card delivered to me on time and in mint condition. (Which was the condition I'd expect it to arrive in.)

You'll find that there are better places to go than Newegg.com

Don't get me wrong, Newegg kicks-ass, but if it's price and selection you're after search for it through Geek.com
